Frequently asked
Customer data questions we get asked
- What does Comet mean by a “single view of the customer”?
- One reconciled record per customer, assembled from every system that holds a piece of them - CRM, ecommerce, marketing, service and support. Comet designs the architecture that unifies those touchpoints and the data model underneath it, so teams stop working from conflicting exports and start working from one source of truth.
- Does Comet work with Salesforce Data Cloud?
- Yes. Data Cloud is one of the practice’s deepest specialisms, used to unify and resolve customer records across systems and make them available to Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud in real time. Comet is a Salesforce consulting partner, so the data work and the platform work are done by the same team.
- Can Comet work with our existing data stack, or does it have to be rebuilt?
- Either. Comet designs cloud-native warehouses from scratch where that is the right call, and hybrid architectures that work with legacy systems where a rebuild is not realistic. The starting point is what you already run, not a preferred vendor.
- What kinds of systems does Comet integrate?
- CRM, marketing automation, ecommerce, service and support platforms, plus the ERP and finance systems behind them. The aim is that data moves between them automatically and consistently, rather than being exported, cleaned and re-uploaded by someone every week.
- Does Comet build reporting and dashboards as well?
- Yes. Comet builds dashboards and reports designed to be read across the business - marketing, sales and frontline teams - rather than only by analysts, so the trends in the data reach the people making decisions on them.
